Banginapalli is a mango variety produced in Banaganapalle of Kurnool district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Nutritional values - Mango is low in calories but full of nutrients. It is an excellent source of flavonoids like β-carotene, α-carotene, and β-cryptoxanthin, vitamins like A, B1 (Thiamine), B2 (Riboflavin), B3 (Niacin), B5 (Pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (Folate), K (potassium), C (ascorbic acid) and Vit E. It is also a good source of minerals like manganese and magnesium, high in antioxidants like mangiferin, catechins, anthocyanins and many more.

Health benefits - It helps fight cancer, heart disease and eye problems. keeps you hydrated, quenches thirst and boosts energy/immunity. But not suitable for weight watchers because of its high sugar level content. Vit C in it gives your skin its elasticity and prevents sagging and wrinkling, Vit A promotes healthy hair and the polyphenols may fight oxidative stress, which is linked to colon, lung, prostate, breast and bone cancers. Best season to have it is during Summer.

In the Kitchen - Best eaten raw. Cut pieces and make juice or a smoothie or a milkshake. Have it in salads. Can garnish ice-cream or use it as a flavour in baking items.
